Neuromuscular Dentistry is a specialty of dentistry that focuses on the correction of jaw misalignment. Neuromuscular dentist focuses on determining the optimal jaw position and correcting the occlusion or bite to improve the function between jaw muscles, TM joint, teeth and neuromusculature. 

A Healthy mouth not only comprises good looking teeth but also has the right functions between these structures. Any deviation from the norm can cause variety of serious conditions like orofacial pain, temporomandibular joint disorder, headaches, neck pain, muscle spasm etc. To objectively assess and diagnose these conditions, a neuromuscular dentist uses very sophisticated technologies like electromyography, jaw sonography, keinisiography or jaw tracking, digital bite analysis etc. and develops a personalized treatment plan. 

To achieve the best possible bite (occlusion) and jaw alignment, neuromuscular dentist combines the concepts of anatomy and physiology and records the ideal position for the lower jaw, where the jaw muscles are most comfortable.
